Equalizer zero gap grip-holder mechanical flange spreader is clutch to connector bolt holes and spread flange joints. On this case there is no space on flange surface. This is why MG and SW series not using on zero gap flange types.
(MG series requires 2 mm gap, SW series requires 6 mm gap.)
SG series are perfect for zero gap flange joints. SG series are do not damage to sealed surface of flange. Ideal for M16 and M20 bolt connections.
How does it work ?
Equalizer SG Series grip-holder flange spreaders is used at zero-gap flange joints. Equalizer zero gap grip-holder mechanical flange spreader is clutch to connector bolt holes and spread flange joints.
Three piece grips are expands and hold on to bolt hole. Grip-holder is fixed in the hole and spreading process is performed. Equalizer’s zero gap flange spreader (SG4TM) suitable for M16, M20 bolt connections. (17.5mm, 23mm diameter)
Zero space flange connections are generally used in oil and gas subsea pipeline. Therefore, there should be no gaps in the flange joints. In some connection types which exposed steam and water, there should be zero-gap flanges. In these cases, Equalizer International's zero gap flanges should be used. Flange surface is not damaged and the seal is maintained.

1) The two halves of the mechanical Secure-Grip tool are inserted into opposing flange bolt-holes |
2) Both drive nuts are tightened locking the tool in to the flange bolt-holes |
3) The cantilever followed by the actuator are swung and locked into position |
4) The actuator is tensioned spreading the flange to the maximum load capacity or maximum distance of the tool |
